BREDEX Directors
Hans-Joachim Brede

Hans-Joachim Brede is the founder of BREDEX GmbH and can be thought of as its resident philosopher. His implementation and management of multiple customer projects have given him insights into the art of software development and the way it is carried out. Through this experience, he has become a strong advocate of the importance of quality at all stages in the development process. As well as leading the way to successful quality assurance in individual projects, his vision for better quality is the inspiration for the concepts behind the test tools GUIdancer and Jubula.
Hans-Joachim holds a Diplom in Computer Science and worked with the University of Braunschweig and Digital Equipment as a technical consultant before founding BREDEX.
Achim Lörke

Achim Lörke started software development in 1982 after earning his diploma in electronics. He began working at BREDEX GmbH in 1987 and has been co-owner and director of the company since 1999. As the technical advisor for BREDEX he is responsible for the selection and adoption of new technologies as well as the representation of BREDEX in the Eclipse Board of Directors. His roles as principal architect and project lead allow him to implement many of the new technologies he recommends, while staying up-to-date with current project and customer requirements.
Ulrich Obst

Ulrich Obst joined BREDEX as a software developer in 1990 and became a co-owner and managing director in 2003. His specialties lie in the area of customer requirements formulation as well as hands-on development in various projects. He can most often be found working with customers on their vision for software, or elbow-deep in Java code. He has been working with Java since its earliest days, and has amassed a wealth of knowledge about development and architecture that he shares during code reviews and puts to use in his ongoing development activities.
